Here at The Perfect Dress, we strive to help young women find their perfect dress in a unique and enjoyable setting. Several years ago, our founder was shopping for prom dresses for her own daughters and noticed that there were wait lists, overly crowded stores, and lines several girls deep just waiting to try on some dresses. This stressful and rushed experience is not the memory you want when shopping! Using her background of owning a bridal store, our owner came up with a better way to help the girls and women of the area shop for dresses and find their own perfect dress.

From proms to weddings, quinceañeras to homecoming, are stocked with the latest in fashions from well-known designers such as Sherri Hill, Jovani, Mori Lee, Faviana, Primavera, and Terani Couture, to name a few. Get to know the mother-daughter team who runs The Perfect Dress.
Dina Haugstatter opened up her first bridal store in New Jersey in 1991 at the age of 24. Prior to opening this high-end bridal boutique, Dina worked for Liz Claiborne in Manhattan and was there for about four years before deciding she was ready to venture out on her own. After moving to Mooresville and having two teenage girls who struggled to find prom and homecoming dresses in the area, she decided it was time to open up a shop here in Mooresville.
Dina’s daughter, Brooke Haugstatter, helps her run The Perfect Dress. Brooke has always had a strong interest in fashion and was constantly looking for new ways to style her clothes growing up. Her dream was to start her own boutique, and at the age of 18, she began Unfazed Clothing Co, a boutique focused on helping girls feel confident in what they wear and unfazed by the opinions of others.
The original concept for The Perfect Dress was a pop-up prom dress store. Dina and Brooke started their pop-up in January of 2020 but had to close soon after because of the pandemic. They then reopened shortly in 2021 to help girls who needed a dress that year.

Once Dina and Brooke started their second pop-up in 2021, they had multiple requests for other special occasion dresses. This prompted them to expand into other dress types, including bridalwear, cocktail dresses, homecoming dresses, evening wear, and more. In September of 2021, Dina and Brooke were able to open up their store in a permanent location.
The Perfect Dress is currently located in the historic Merino Mill, which was previously an old furniture mart. Because the building was originally used as an old mill, The Perfect Dress’ storefront features plenty of character and charm.
Both Dina and Brooke love running The Perfect Dress as a mother-daughter team. Their favorite part of operating this boutique is helping every customer they serve feel beautiful and confident, knowing that they helped them find their perfect gown for a special day. |
